Hey, friend! It’s January, and I bet you’re seeing all kind of “new year, new you” marketing out there.
There’s so much pressure—especially at the start of a new year—to add more, do more, transform completely.
But HOLD ON just a second. What if you don’t need to overhaul everything? What if you just need movement that meets you where you are and helps you sustain what you’ve got?
After years of living with a spinal fusion, I (Allie) learned something important: we don’t have to push hard in every single season. Period.
Sometimes the most important work we can do is simply maintaining what we’ve already built. Showing up consistently for what’s already working. Leaning into our rhythm instead of chasing the next big goal.
Sometimes the work is just maintenance and staying on the same course… and guess what? That’s enough.
Maintenance Mode and Pilates
In 2025, I met my goal of running ten road races. I’m super proud of myself, but I have to admit: I found myself asking after race number ten, “Now what?” For me, I needed to coast for a while. I thought long and hard, and decided I’d take a few months to be in maintenance mode. Not striving for another personal best time. Not pushing to new distances. Not signing up for more races. Just… maintaining.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized that this “maintenance mode” is a HUGE gift in a private Pilates practice, too. So often, people come in thinking they need to completely change everything or work themselves into some new version of their body. But in reality, what they really need is something more sustainable: movement that meets them where they are and helps them maintain (or gently build) a solid foundation that helps them move well for life.
Private Pilates: Moving at YOUR Speed
Honestly, private sessions are probably my favorite way to teach Pilates. They give us the space to get to know each other and see how your body moves and what it needs over time. It’s actually pretty magical to watch clients feel something new for the first time in a private Pilates session, and it reminds me why I do this work in the first place: because we all deserve to feel good when we move!
What Makes One-on-One Pilates Different
In our private Pilates studio in Franklin, there’s no one watching except your instructor. No intimidating loud music. No giant classes where everyone seems to know what they’re doing except you.
Nope.
It’s just you, your body, and a 50-minute workout that’s crafted for your goals, your mobility levels, and how you feel that day. No two sessions look the same, and that’s exactly the point.
Whether you’re living with a spinal fusion for scoliosis, dealing with chronic pain, or recovering from a surgery or injury, private Pilates sessions give you the space to explore what you’re capable of in a safe, nurturing, compassionate environment. We’re not following a generic or trendy Pilates program. Your body deserves far more than a cookie cutter class, so let’s work together and build something that actually serves YOU.
Specialized Pilates in Franklin, TN
If you’re reading this, odds are good that you’ve tried a zillion other approaches—physical therapy, chiropractic, group classes—and haven’t gotten the results you were hoping for. When movement hasn’t worked before, it can feel risky to try something new. What if this is just one more thing that doesn’t help? Or worse, what if it makes things feel worse?
Let me tell you: myself (Allie) and our instructors at Havenwell completely understand, because we’ve all been in those shoes at one point or another. And we want you to know that when we work together, we’re starting from where you are right now—not where some generic program thinks you should be.
Every session is built around your body, your goals, and what feels okay (and what doesn’t). We’re not rushing anything, and we’re definitely not doing anything that makes you feel unsafe or defeated.
Because, I’ll say it again: you deserve more than cookie cutter Pilates.
What Clients Say About Private Sessions at Havenwell Pilates
Here’s what one of our clients, Lisa, had to say about working with us:
“I came to Allie at a time when dealing with pain from severe osteoarthritis in my knees and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in my shoulder. The pain was bad enough to force me out of doing my normal workouts, and I needed a non-weight bearing stretch and exercise routine to keep me moving and maintain my strength. Allie listened to my needs and understood how to coach and support me using Pilates. She’s a great instructor and knows her stuff!”
