Sessions, Classes,
Pricing + Studio Info
Whether you’re brand new to Pilates, navigating a spinal fusion, or managing a chronic condition, you’re in the right place! Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions we hear from clients in Franklin, TN.
Beginner Pilates Questions: Starting Your Journey
Q: I’ve never done Pilates before. Is that okay?
A: More than okay… it’s perfect! We love working with beginners because you don’t have any habits to unlearn. We’ll start with the basics and build your confidence along with your strength.
Q: What if I can’t do an exercise?
A: Then we modify it or try something different! There’s no “can’t” in our studio… there’s only “let’s find another way.” Every body is different, and that’s what makes this work interesting.
Q: How often should I do sessions?
A: It depends on your goals and schedule. Many clients start with once a week and see how they feel. Some prefer twice a week for faster progress, others do every other week for maintenance. We’ll find what works for your life and body.
Q: How long until I see results?
A: Many people feel different after their very first session. You may feel taller, more energized, or more aware of your body. Building strength and changing movement patterns takes time, though. Most clients notice meaningful changes within 4-6 weeks of consistent practice (about once a week). Remember, this isn’t just about physical changes; it’s also about feeling more confident and capable in your body.
Q: Do I need to commit to a certain number of sessions?
A: Not at all! You can book single drop-in sessions whenever you’d like. That said, packages offer better value if you know you want to come regularly. There’s never pressure to commit to more than feels right for you.
Q: What if I need to take a break from sessions due to flare-ups or life circumstances?
A: Life happens, and bodies with fusions can be unpredictable! If you think you might need flexibility, drop-in sessions work best since they don’t expire. Packages do have expiration dates, so they’re better suited for clients who can maintain a more consistent schedule. We can help you choose the option that makes sense for your situation.
Pilates Session Logistics: In-Person & Virtual Options
Q: What’s your cancellation policy?
A: We ask for 24-hour notice for cancellations when possible. You can read more about our terms of service and cancellation policy here.
Q: How do virtual sessions work?
A: We’ll use Zoom, and we’ll send you the link ahead of time. You’ll need space to lie down and move your arms freely. We can see you clearly and provide real-time feedback just like an in-person session.
Q: What should I wear to sessions?
A: Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely is all you need. No fancy workout gear required! If you’re wearing shorts, go for bicycle length or longer. For footwear, please bring socks. Any socks work, though grippy ones are nice if you have them. We have extra grips at the studio if needed.
Q: Where is the studio located?
A: We’re located at 400 Sugartree Lane, Suite 410, Franklin, TN 37064, in the back corner of the Maplewood Office Park. Once you turn onto Sugartree Lane from 96/Murfreesboro Road, take the 2nd right, then keep left in the parking lot. Look for our sign on the door of suite 410, right behind the big tree. Full directions and what to bring are on our Getting Started page.
Pilates With Spinal Fusion Surgery: Your Questions Answered
Q: Can I do Pilates with hardware, rods, or screws?
A: Absolutely! We work with people who have various types of hardware all the time. We’ll modify exercises to work with your hardware, not against it. The metal doesn’t limit what we can do. It just changes how we approach certain movements.
Q: What if I don’t know my specific fusion levels or details?
A: No problem at all! We’ll work with what you do know. We can help you figure out what movements feel good and which ones to modify, regardless of the technical details. Your body will tell us what we need to know.
Q: What if I have very limited flexibility or mobility?
A: That’s exactly why we do what we do! Every single exercise has modifications for different mobility levels. We’ll start where you are and build from there. Limited flexibility just means we get creative with how we move.
Q: I’m worried about aggravating my back. Is Pilates safe after spinal fusion?
A: When done properly with fusion-specific modifications, Pilates can actually help support your spine and improve your quality of life. We specialize in working with spinal fusions and will never ask you to do anything that compromises your fusion. If you are less than six months out from surgery, we may ask for a letter of medical clearance from your doctor or surgeon.
Q: What makes your Pilates approach different for people with spinal fusions?
A: We specialize specifically in working with spinal fusions and chronic conditions in Franklin, TN. Plus, our founder, Allie, has lived with scoliosis and a 12-level spinal fusion since 2007. Every class and session we offer includes modifications for different mobility levels, and we understand the unique challenges that come with living with fusion hardware. Our private Pilates sessions, duet sessions, and on-demand video library are designed with fusion-specific modifications that you won’t find elsewhere.
General Pilates Questions: Chronic Pain, Injuries & More
Q: Do you work with conditions other than spinal fusions?
A: Yes! We work with various chronic conditions, injuries, and those who just want personalized, thoughtful movement that fits well into their lifestyle. Our approach is always to meet you where you are and modify as needed.
Q: How is this different from physical therapy?
A: Physical therapy focuses on rehabilitation and getting you back to baseline. Pilates is about building strength, mobility, and confidence to help you thrive beyond baseline. They complement each other beautifully!
Q: If I’m experiencing a flare-up or pain, can I still attend my session?
A: Yes! If you’re up for it, movement can help you feel better. Just let us know how you’re feeling when you arrive (or when you hop on our virtual call). We can always adjust the session to work with what your body needs that day… that’s the whole point!
Q: Do you offer packages or memberships?
A: Yes. We have various packages for both in-person and virtual sessions, plus our on-demand video collections with fusion-specific modifications. We can discuss what might work best for your goals and budget during your first session. See more information on Pilates session pricing and packages here.
Q: Can I try a session before committing to multiple sessions?
A: Absolutely! Many people start with a single session at our drop-in rate to see how they feel. We also have at-home classes in our on-demand library if you want to try things out on your own schedule first.
